How to Get Here

There are a number of different ways to get here. Below we have included travel information on the most common forms of transport.

One thing to keep in mind is that, due to our remoteness, the bus service is very infrequent and a car is essential.

By Road :

From Inverness take the A82 and then the  A87 to Kyle of Lochalsh and cross over the Skye Bridge (Toll Free). Continue on A850 to Sligachan where you turn left for Dunvegan (A863). "An Cairidh" is about 4 miles from Dunvegan and the house sign is on the main road (on your left hand side) about 1 mile past the little village of Ose.

From Fort William take the A82 and then the A87 to Kyle of Lochalsh and follow directions above.  Alternatively you can take the "Road to the Isles", the A830, to Mallaig and cross over to Armadale on the ferry (About 20 mins crossing). From Armadale take the A851 to Broadford, turn left onto the A850 to Sligachan and then follow directions above. During the busy summer season prior booking is advisable for the ferry crossing.

By Rail:

Rail services run from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh and from Fort William to Mallaig.  Road directions from Mallaig and Kyle of Lochalsh are given above.

By Air:

From Inverness airport drive to the city of Inverness and then follow the directions above for Skye.

From Glasgow airport cross the Erskine bridge and take the A82 north to Fort William. From Fort William follow directions above for Skye.
